CARL HANSEN & SØN

Carl Hansen & Søn has been manufacturing quality furniture since 1908 when cabinetmaker Carl Hansen opened a furniture workshop on the Danish island of Funen. Since then, the company has depended on two core ideas; commitment to the finest craftsmanship and alliance with outstanding designers. In 1949, Carl Hansen's son Holger initiated a collaboration with the then unknown Hans J Wegner, who then created a successful furniture serie that includes the now iconic CH24 Wishbone Chair (Y-chair). Carl Hansen & Søn has also collaborated with several other Danish designers such as Ole Wanscher, Frits Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen, Kaare Klint, Mogens Koch and Poul Kjærholm.
