MT221 Pendant The MT221 Tulip lamp was designed by Danish designer Marianne Tuxen in 2022 in connection with the renovation of the Carlsberg Academy, the villa of brewery founder J.C. Jacobsen in Copenhagen. Tuxen's Tulip lamp was created exclusively for the Pompeii Hall, a magnificent winter garden with architecture inspired by ancient Italy, where it blends in well and adds a touch of simple, modern elegance. The shade of the MT221 Tulip lamp is mouth-blown and consists of three layers of glossy, white opal glass, which demonstrates Tuxen's expertise in areas such as lighting design, sculpture and architecture. The organic shape of the glass shade is reminiscent of the petals of a tulip and provides even, glare-free lighting, while the small opening at the bottom projects directed light downwards. The suspension rod in brushed brass is seamlessly joined to the softly rounded shade, creating a classic, yet modern and organic, silhouette. The MT221 Tulip lamp is available in sizes Ø17 and Ø36. It can be used as a solitary lamp or with several lamps combined in clusters, and is equally suitable for private and public environments.
