KK47000 Safari Armchair
Safari Chair from Carl Hansen & Søn was designed in 1933 by Kaare Klint, who is often called the father of furniture art. The inspiration is taken from British officers' chairs that he had seen in a travel guide for Africa. The chair is one of the world's first "build-it-yourself" furniture and can easily be assembled and dismantled without tools, even today the chair comes in a flat package. Assembly is very simple, no screws and no glue needed. The construction tightens when you sit in it, which gives strength and stability. Kaare Klint's philosophy was that the furniture should be functional and fulfill a purpose.
Klint's sense of tradition and heritage is clearly seen in this, his most famous work - Safari Chair. With its clean lines and Scandinavian style, it has become a modern classic.
Armrests are only available in saddle leather nature and are without seams.
The chair always includes a cushion.
Stool is available in the same design and is sold separately.
