AJ Wall lamp
The AJ lamp was designed in 1960 for the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, formerly SAS Royal Hotel, in Copenhagen and was part of the overall design concept for the hotel. Several of the products that were developed today are design icons and in lighting, the AJ lamps have become world famous.
AJ has a tiltable screen with an asymmetrical shape that gives the lamp its characteristic light image.
The Danish Radio House was designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen, one of modernism and functionalism's most talented architects. In collaboration with Louis Poulsen, he also created all of Radiohuset's lamps. The VL38 table lamp was used in radio studios.
The luminaire provides a direct and directional light. The tilting luminaire head helps to further optimize the light scattering. The screen is white lacquered on the inside, which gives the light a pleasant spread.
