CH22 Lounge Chair
CH22 by Hans J. Wegner was taken back in production by Carl Hansen & Søn 2016. It has elegant armrests, an envelope-woven seat and a distinct back shell in molded veneer. The chair's refined carpentry is clearly visible in the finger-jointed corners of the seat frame, with the front legs locked in wooden wedges in a color that contrasts with the frame.
Today, while parts of the process have been modernized, the CH22 is still manufactured as it was when Wegner oversaw the first production at the Hansen family's facilities in 1950, with expert craftsmanship used from assembly to surface treatment and seat weaving.
CH22 was introduced as part of a series that marked Wegner's first masterpiece for Carl Hansen & Søn.
Oak has a clearly visible wood structure when painted.
