Classic Ormbunk Armchair Classic Armchair, also known by the name Ormbunk Chair, from Byarums Bruk. The armchair is part of the same series as the Omrbunkssoffan, which was seen at the first world exhibition that took place in London in 1851. An exhibition that has gone to history, not least through Joseph Paxton's "Crystal Palace" which served as an exhibition hall. Many new products met a larger audience during the exhibition for the first time. Among the news was the fern couch, which quickly became popular and a common feature in English parks and gardens. The model also spread to other countries and soon several Swedish foundries had the fern sofa on their manufacturing program. Of these, only Byarum's Mill remains today. There is no doubt that the sofa has qualities that characterize a classic. A garden profile that really appreciated the fern couch was Greve Lennart Bernadotte. Byarums Bruk supplied countless fern sofas to the park and castle Mainau in southern Germany during the second half of the 20th century.
