Chaise Tout Bois Chair
The stylish chair Chaise Tout Bois from Vitra is designed by Jean Prouvé, considered by many to be one of the truly great designers of the 20th century. Chaise Tout Bois was designed in 1941 and is made entirely of oak, without screws, as there was a shortage of metal during World War II. Chaise Tout Bois is a further development of the well-known Standard chair from the same manufacturer and designer.
Most of the load on a chair is on the back pair of legs, this is an insight that Jean had in mind when he designed the chair. The front legs, which are loaded the least, consist of a neater construction.
While the rear leg pair has a coarser construction. This not only gives the chair a higher strength where it is really needed, but also a unique and characteristic look - An icon!
