Aluminum Group EA 104 Dining chair
The aluminum chairs EA 101, EA 103 and EA 104 by Charles and Ray Eames are slightly lighter, narrower and higher than the other chairs in the Aluminum series. This makes them perfect for the dining table. The three models differ in the type of base – fixed or swivel – and whether they come with armrests. EA 103 has a fixed base with armrests and EA 104 has armrests and a swivel function. Choose from many options for upholstery, both fabric and leather
The Aluminum Group chair from Vitra is one of the 20th century's foremost design furniture. It was designed by Charles and Ray Eames as early as 1958 on behalf of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana, who would have it in his private residence. In this case, the couple deviated from the Eames shell construction, instead a piece of fabric or leather was clamped between two aluminum profiles and thus an elastic seat was obtained.
This type of construction provides a high level of comfort, even without upholstery. Aluminum Group is available in a number of different designs and comes with fabric (Hopsak), a kind of fabric (Netweave) or leather. The version with leather upholstery has leather on the front and fabric (Plano) on the back. The chair fits well in the home as well as in the office or in public environments. The extremely high quality allows the manufacturer to provide a 30-year warranty on this chair.
