Cake Lamp
Cake outdoor lamp is designed by architects Kersti Sandin and Lars Bülow, a design that originated in 1988 when they designed a lamp called Minimalen, a copper-colored lampshade on a strict chrome-plated base. The lamp was only produced in a few copies, but its shape was preserved in the designers' minds. 35 years later, the lampshade reappears in the Cake outdoor luminaire series, as the starting point for a collaboration between the design studio S+B Stockholm and Örsjö. The name Cake comes from the lampshade's resemblance to an upside-down metal baking tin.
