Parasol S Side Table The young and talented Finnish designer Antrei Hartikainen has designed the table serine Parasol. Antrei has created an elegant, unexpected and functional collection in two sizes. A coffee table in size 90 cm in diameter and a smaller side table in 50 cm in diameter. Both sizes come in natural colored or dark stained oak veneer. Antrei got the inspiration for the aesthetic expression of the tables from water lilies in ponds, where the leaves float in the water. Antrei wanted his design to emphasize the heart of Maze, such as their playfulness and practicality. At the same time, the design of the tables adds a touch of elegance and thus elevates Maze as a brand. The balance between stylishness and function means that the tables are placed just as well in a smaller apartment as in the lounge of a fine hotel. Parasol follows the spirit of Scandinavian design – the industrial look meets a homely atmosphere and the shapes are purely minimalist yet refined. To achieve the floating illusion, the tabletop rests on a single metal leg that firmly holds it up. A difficult challenge above all for the larger table with its 90 cm diameter. In close collaboration with the Småland manufacturer Steelnova, Antrei and Maze solved the challenge of creating complete stability through carefully selected materials, design precision and Steelnova's long experience in construction. The name Parasol refers to the appearance and function of a certain type of sun protection, the same characteristics are also repeated in the tables. The large parasol stands upright with a strong leg attached to the side and protects what's underneath. Things placed on the lower level of the table are equally protected under the table top, but not hidden.
