Royal System Rail To build your unique Royal System Shelving System, at least 2 wall moldings are needed. The strips can be combined in different lengths according to your needs. The 200 cm strip has 44 attachment options for e.g. 6 shelves and the 100 cm strip have 22 attachment options for e.g. 3 shelves. Smoked oak and walnut are finished with oil. Oak can be oiled, soaped or black lacquered. In 1948, Poul Cadovius designed "The Royal System", which then became the world's first wall-mounted shelving system. It quickly became a success thanks to the neat design and the wide range of options. Today, the shelf system is manufactured by dk3, which has made a modern interpretation of the classic shelf system. Royal System Information Note that dk3, in 2018, has changed the "Smoked Oak" finish from full-smoked oak to light-smoked oak. Therefore, the type of wood will have a different color tone than those purchased before 2018-03. New parts (dk3) are not compatible with old parts (pre 1985).
