Royal Shelf System 3 In 1948 Poul Cadovius designed "The Royal System" which then became the world's first wall mounted shelf system. It quickly became a success thanks to the neat design and the great choices. Today, the shelf system is manufactured by dk3, which has made a modern interpretation of the classic shelf system. Royal Shelf System 3 is made in walnut with brackets in brass or stainless steel. Royal System Information Note that dk3, in 2018, has changed the "Smoked Oak" finish from full-smoked oak to light-smoked oak. Therefore, the type of wood will have a different color tone than those purchased before 2018-03. New parts (dk3) are not compatible with old parts (pre 1985).
